Boreal Omega is dedicated to the responsible valorization of marine products, using abundant and sustainable fishery resources from the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

At this stage of its development, Boreal Omega is focusing on the valorization of seal products, specifically harp seal and grey seal.

These two species are experiencing rapid growth: the first has seen its population increase from 1.5 million in the 1970s to nearly 5 million in 2023. During the same period, the grey seal population has increased from 10,000 to nearly 500,000 individuals . Overpredation by this mammal negatively impacts the marine ecosystem, fish stocks, and the bulk fishing industry.
