I am the co-founding director of DiFSATS and Chief innovator for the Pan African SPS Compliance Cross-border Trade Management system (PASC-TMS) which is the DiFSATS flagship innovation for addressing food safety, SPS and standards compliance challenges impacting trade in Africa. I am also the Managing Director and lead innovator for DiFSATS. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. I am specializing in data science, AI and machine learning. I am also passionate about software development and web based systems. I am also a junior expert in food safety and SPS systems where I have undertaken an executive course in international food safety and SPS system in the framework of WTO-SPS agreement with familiarity with the workings of international SPS standards setting bodies such as Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and World Organization of Animal Health (WOAH). I am quite familiar with the adoption and implementation of standards established by these organizations at continental, REC and National level in the African context. I work with expert teams (at Food Safety Associates Limited - some who are co-founders of DiFSATS) in the areas of SPS systems and quality infrastructure (standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation) who have supported the private and public sector to meet the requirements for trade in Africa as enshrined in WTO Agreements on SPS and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT). This has given me wide range of experience and knowledge in the areas of food safety, SPS measures and standards as they impact trade in Africa and globally.
