As writed above, I'm Prisca , I am a married woman and mother of four children. I work in the wild silk sector, transforming it into various items such as tablecloths, scarves, face covers, and dress panels. This ancestral heritage, passed down from our great-grandmothers, has been enriched with new techniques and the creation of modern products. In 2001, we founded our cooperative TANJONA with the aim of professionalizing and promoting this traditional know-how. Since then, we have brought our creations to local, national, and international markets. Thanks to partnerships with ministries, technical and financial institutions, as well as our participation in events such as the International Folk Art Market (IFAM) in 2011 and again in 2019, we have been able to strengthen and expand our activities.
Our work contributes to the development of our community by creating jobs for weaver artisans, increasing their income, attracting visitors through unique products, and preserving our cultural heritage—particularly the royal symbolism of Malagasy silk.
