About the Speaker

onen Nfi is an acclaimed Cameroonian fashion entrepreneur whose work redefines African heritage through innovative, sustainable design. She is celebrated for fusing royal West African textiles such as Toghu and Nduop with bold contemporary aesthetics, creating garments that embody cultural pride, global relevance, and ecological responsibility.
Her eponymous brand, KiBONEN, stands at the intersection of fashion and technology, pioneering a made-when-ordered model that reduces waste and promotes conscious consumption. By merging African storytelling with tech-enabled sustainability, Kibonen is building a globally relevant and locally rooted fashion system that supports ethical production and circular design.
Through the KiBONEN Sustainable Creative Hub, she champions community-driven manufacturing and biodegradable materials, while cultivating creative talent and economic opportunity in Cameroon and beyond. Her garments have been worn by global icons including Lupita Nyong’o, Wizkid, Kanayo Awani, and Gayle King.
Kibonen’s work has been featured in international media such as Vogue, CNN African Voices, Business of Fashion, and Humans of New York. She has showcased at New York Fashion Week, exhibited at Buckingham Palace, and spoken at institutions such as NYU and Columbia University.
She is also the founder of the Made in Camer Apparel Plant, co-founder of Cameroon Clothing Company, and co-founder of the African Fashion Council. As a member of Afreximbank’s CANEX Advisory Group, Kibonen actively shapes policies and initiatives that promote Africa’s creative and cultural industries on the global stage.
