Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) is a governmental entity that manages the administration, directives and operations of Djibouti's ports, Free Zones, Special Economic Zones and many other main infrastructures.
Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority was created by the amended decree n°2003-0207/PRE of October 9, 2003 (providing that the « l’Autorité de la Zone Franche de Djibouti » becomes « l’Autorité des Ports et des Zones Franches de Djibouti»
DPFZA is mandated to:
Djibouti is at the center of global trade routes and on two of the three busiest shipping routes in the world. its location connects Africa to Asia, Europe and America.
To take advantage of our strategic location, we have invested more than $1.1 Billion in modernizing existing infrastructures and developing new world-class facilities, such as the Doraleh Multipurpose Port (DMP), the electric railway linking Djibouti to Ethiopia and the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ) which will be the largest of its kind in Africa- etc….
Our mission includes establishing Djibouti as a trade and transport hub for Africa. Thus, through Great Horn Investment Holding (GHIH), DPFZA contributes to and leads several other projects such as, the planning, construction and investment of new airports, new Highways, power plants etc…
Our projects aim to strengthen Djibouti’s role as a logistics and infrastructure hub and to UNLEASH THE ECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF AFRICA.
