CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) is a pan-African movement revolutionizing how girls’ education is delivered with a mission to empower young women to become leaders and changemakers in their communities. Beyond education, CAMFED drives enterprise development across rural communities by equipping young women with skills, seed capital, and business development support to grow resilient and scalable ventures.
Through our Enterprise Development program, CAMFED supports youth-led businesses across value chains such as arts and crafts, apiculture (honey), baobab, tailoring, livestock, and horticulture. These interventions tap into local endowments and heritage-based products, such as handcrafted artifacts and baobab-based products, transforming them into high-value products ready for local and international markets.
By promoting value addition from raw honey processing to baobab oil extraction and packaging CAMFED is positioning rural entrepreneurs, especially young women, as key players in Africa’s export growth. Our work champions inclusive, sustainable value chains that uplift communities and celebrate authentic African innovation on the global stage.
